This alone makes it easier for a hacker to invade the PC.

They can even add items to the registery that corrupt the system. One objective in developing the operating system

would be to reduce the number of files required while increasing its funcionality.

Adding to the registery should be estricted to the computer operator not some one allowed through the fire wall.

Thanks for listening to my babble. Frank

I can't say that i'm always able to know what i do - about my kind of programming, but it's my own kind of programming and it's the esier way for me. I write codes in my own programming-language and use therefor the Notepad-Editor. I write the code inside and then i decide what the fucking format my programm will gets and i'm pissed on that i'm to stupid to know where my programms are. I often take the connect with other servers to make my own programms better and take therefor the internet to download my finished programms. The reason is that my own programms only starts, when they were downloaded from the internet, then i've got no right bootstation or i shall try to connect the registry formats - in what of kind how ever - in the right way. But i can say that my own vitual platform works right and that i've got installed all the programms i wanted.

I am assuming before you upgraded to Windows 7 you ran the upgrade advisor tool(www.microsoft.com/.../upgrade-advisor.aspx) . Did it tell you that your older pieces of software would run on Windows 7?

What were the results? If the upgrade advisor told you these pieces of software would work, they should work.

I, however, a normal user, hate it. I would use a stronger word than hate if I could think of one right now. This new laptop came with W7 and I am going to return it this week and opt for a used one instead that has xp or vista..or anything other than W7. I run a gaming site. None, not one of 33 games will open and display full screen. They are all boxed in the middle of the screen. For me, like most, this just doesn't cut it. I had heard such good things about W7. It's possible that they are true, but with my main use seeminly banned from this version, I must say that I am the farthest from being a fan.

Even obtaining assistance from India through support.microsoft.com/ea (ea meaning Easy Assist), I downloaded my large quantity of files. It took several hours in converting from Windows Vista to Windows 7, because the files are completely reconfigured. The Win 7 features on my three-year-old Gateway computer appear to be fine, except for one disturbing factor; i.e. the Desktop on my computer screen remains black underneath the icons. There is a Win 7 feature called Personalization that is supposed to provides the capability to display a Microsoft logo or picture on the desktop. I am unable to obtain this feature.

Haveing 64 bit windows has nothing to do with being able to view this site or any other. Windows 7 64 bit would only effect drivers and software that you install. Your inability to view videos on You Tube would be based on your video settings and browser plug ins. It has nothing to do with your Operating System.

I would however like to see in the next product cycle of Windows the scrapping of the whole start menu and the implementing of a more advanced folder menu that includes most of the actions of the start menu on the new library folder Icon on the task bar. All in all I am liking the new windows 7 very much. Good job guys!

In addition "ITunes" has problem with64 bit and not with 32 bit.

I like Windows 7 better than Windows Vista but I have the 32 bit OS on this computer but 64 bit on my new computer.
